The Impact Model Of The Future

Organic Soup Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that embeds both social purpose and business purpose into our organization. This bold move supports sustainability and helps us scale to further our positive social impact within the Santa Barbara community. Alongside some of the most innovative thinkers in the world, we implement a social enterprise as a means for real change for the people.

As part of this model, our SoupMeals are available for purchase on our website and at Santa Barbara Farmers Market. Every SoupMeal we sell directly supports food security and oncology nutrition for our low-income clients. It’s the soup that gives back. 

Additionally, our food rescue program is an integral part of our sustainability plan. We salvage hundreds of pounds of produce each week from local farmers that we flash freeze and stabilize for our plant based soups. We are also able to utilize 100% of the produce scraps that would otherwise end up in the landfill for our weekly bone broth soups. By working closely with local partners to minimize food waste, using recyclable BPA free packaging and maximizing energy efficiency in our production and distribution processes, we are an environmentally conscious enterprise committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
