A Look Back Through the Years…

Founded in 2009, Organic Soup Kitchen was determined to change the standards of how low-income people are nourished. Research revealed that most low-income populations were suffering from dietary-induced illnesses due to limited budgets and limited choices of food from charitable food providers.

 

2011​

2013

  • Became official “1% for the Planet Member” (A Global Community)

2014

  • Became official “Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market” member (Sam Edelman, SB Farmers Market)

2015

  • Awarded “Community Dividends Award” for community enrichment through excellence and compassion (Montecito Bank & Trust)

2017

  • Awarded “Appreciation for Cancer Survivors” (American Cancer Society)
  • Served over 100,000 meals to community, cancer patients, seniors, veterans, homeless, and more
  • Provided emergency food aid for Thomas Fire and Montecito mudslide victims
  • Implemented new proprietary, scalable database system

2018

  • Kicked off capital campaign for new all-in-one headquarters
  • Awarded “Local Heroes Award” (Hospice of Santa Barbara)
  • Awarded “Congressional Recognition Award” (Salud Carbajal)
